Writing Dissertation
Top 7 tips for writing dissertation:
- Don’t be too rigid with the title to begin with: Once you have decided on your dissertation topic proposal, allow flexibility and use a ‘working title’ otherwise you may be forced to dismiss valuable ideas and opportunities with the limits a fixed title imposes.
- Don’t let ideas disappear: Don’t assume that a great idea will stick in your mind for later use. Give yourself helping hand by jotting down ideas as they come to you.
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude: All the experts will tell you that a very high percentage of success comes through having a positive mindset and willingness to succeed.
- Put ‘plan to paper’: Having a timescale and methodology on paper will provide motivation and keep you in the correct mindset which will help to demonstrate progress when writing dissertations.
- Keep a diary: Setting your thoughts down on paper can be a great help when writing a dissertation – Diaries help to calm your mind as well as making for a great memento to look back on.
- Give yourself an occasional treat: When you reach a particular milestone during the writing dissertation process, treat yourself to something you particularly enjoy!
- Remember the format: Keeping the required format and structure in mind will save you a great deal of time later on. Writing dissertation time should be productive - not labour intensive!
